“You are raising nonsense” — Woman reveals how she embarrasses neighbours’ children for refusing to greet

A mother has ignited an internet debate after disclosing how she intentionally embarrasses her neighbours’ children, aged 10 to 15, since they supposedly refuse to greet adults.

According to the woman, almost every unit in her neighbourhood contains children, yet she noted that many of them would stare right at her and walk away without saying anything.

She explained that she originally greeted the children herself, expecting that they would ultimately learn to respond without prompting.

The woman eventually adjusted her attitude, greeting the youngsters with “ma” or “sir” and slightly bending.

She recounted an incident involving one of the children, saying, “Yesterday, I greeted one by the gate, good afternoon sir and bended my head a bit, his mouth was opened, and he was confused, he couldn’t say anything, he just put his face down while walking to their flat.”

According to her, the interaction appeared to make the youngster uncomfortable, as he later ran back inside when she approached.

The woman chastised parents for what she saw as bad upbringing, particularly their failure to teach children fundamental social decorum.

She said, “You people are raising nonsense, your children dont greet, they dont know how to interact with other children, you put iPad in their hands. Keep raising zombies.”

She further expressed concern about the kind of adults such children could become if they were not taught basic manners while growing up.

Her comments have drawn attention to the wider conversation around parenting, discipline and teaching children social skills at home.
