Women resist PHCN officials who stormed their area to disconnect power despite poor power supply

Social media users have been sharing a photo of a group of women officially opposing men from the Power Holding Company of Nigeria PHCN from disconnecting their electricity wires despite the company’s inadequate power supply.

The Yoruba-speaking women in the captioned said:

“You still want to disconnect our wire even though we haven’t had light yet?” You haven’t given us power for three months. Now, we all sleep outside.

The officials attempted to disconnect the power by climbing the pole, but the angry women stood by the ladder they had brought.

When one of the officials tried to push one of the women, the others swamped around him.

The incident has gathered mixed reactions online with many applauding the women for standing up against the PHCN officials.

Nigerians have faced poor power supply in the last three months, Two days ago, the Minister of Power apologised for the poor power supply and said the situation will improve in two weeks.
