Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has addressed claims that she does not collaborate with or support female artistes in the Nigerian music industry.

The singer dismissed the allegation in an interview, saying she has featured female artistes on songs in the past.

According to Tiwa, the major challenge is that some of the female artistes she has worked with do not put enough effort into promoting the songs after their release.

She said she is often criticised when she chooses to collaborate with male artistes despite having worked with female acts.

“People say I don’t feature female artists which is a lie. When I feature female artists, they don’t promote the songs. But when I collaborate with Odumodublvck, they start complaining,” Tiwa Savage said.

Tiwa has collaborated with several female artistes, including Waje, Ayra Starr, Simi, Asa, Efya, Becca and Di’Ja.

She has also worked with male artistes including Odumodublvck, Wizkid, Davido and Young Jonn.

Her collaboration with Odumodublvck, titled 100 Million, was released in March 2024.
