“Why are you asking if I’m hungry when you know you won’t buy me food?” – Lady tackles men

A Nigerian woman has spoken about her encounter with two guys who constantly checked on her during a rough day, explaining why she believes asking a woman if she has eaten can sometimes signify more than just showing concern.

In a video posted to X (previously Twitter), she claimed that she was in her shop having a difficult day when her two suitors called to check on her.

According to her, one of the males called several times to see if she had eaten. Although she admitted she hadn’t eaten, she added that she wasn’t attempting to trick them into purchasing her food.

“One of them called me seven times and was still asking, ‘Have you eaten, have you eaten?’ I said no and did not show workings still. He said, ‘Oh, you know you said you have ulcer, eat oo, so the ulcer won’t come back,’” she recounted.

The woman wondered why the men would keep asking if she had eaten without offering to buy her food.

She clarified that a woman may occasionally have the chance to remark something she is yearning when a man calls and enquires as to whether she has eaten.

“If you call a girl and ask, ‘Have you eaten?’ it’s two things involved. It could be that I have really not eaten, or it could be that I want to use it as an avenue for you to get me something I’ve been craving. Food shouldn’t define who a woman is,” she added.

Online debate has been triggered by her remarks, with some responding to her explanation of what it can sometimes mean to ask a lady if she has eaten.
