A viral billboard portraying Nigerian businessman Olakunle Churchill, his ex-wife Tonto Dikeh, and their son, King Andre, has elicited strong emotions on social media.
The billboard, which was purportedly installed near the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge, surfaced online after Churchill posted a snapshot of it on his Instagram story.
The enormous exhibit honouring their kid featured a family portrait of the former couple with their child, which sparked immediate interest.
Many people claimed Churchill himself sponsored the billboard, and some even brought his current wife, Rosy Meurer, into the picture.
However, Churchill stated that he was not the one who erected it.
According to him, the billboard was a birthday present from a buddy who wanted to commemorate his son’s milestone.
He also shared screenshots of their conversation, in which the friend explicitly indicated that the gesture was for the child.
The clarification came shortly after the ex-couple reunited to celebrate their son’s 10th birthday in big style.
Notable attendees included Obi Cubana, Rita Edochie, Uche Elendu, Empress Njamah, and singer Teni, among others.
Tonto openly praised Churchill for being a “amazing father,” expressing her “godly love” for him and praying for his family, businesses, and other children at the celebration, in what many regarded as mature co-parenting. As predicted, Nigerians were outspoken in the comments area.
One user wrote, “Co-parenting done right. The child should always come first.” Another added, “This is so disrespectful, no woman should accept this… Rosy is definitely a strong one.”
