A Nigerian guy has described how, while attending the institution, he met Fireboy DML.

The individual claimed to have been the singer’s flatmate and buddy for three years at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in a now-viral X post.

The man, who went by @ayo-solace on X (previously Twitter), described how they met at the institution.

The X user claims that he ran into Fireboy DML, who was coming back from the studio, while travelling to church with a friend.

He revealed that Fireboy DML was constantly at the studio during the singer’s early career, which prompted him to ask for a picture.

The man expressed delight in Fireboy DML’s musical career in the widely shared tweet, highlighting the fact that he has yet to fulfil his full potential.

“I was very certain that the world would eventually hear him sing cause he good die. I am super proud of his journey so far, and I still believe we haven’t witnessed his full potential yet”, He stated.

His breakthrough track, Jealous, was released in 2019 after he signed with YBNL Records in 2017.

The song attracted the attention of prominent figures in the music industry, dominated radio stations, and produced 10 million streams in under 18 months.

But this resulted in the 2019 release of his debut album, Laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps, which won him multiple honours at The Headies, including Best Pop Album and Best R&B Album.
