A Nigerian woman’s story about her experience with a barber who charges more than 100,000 Nigerian Naira has gone viral on the internet.

On X (previously Twitter), the woman, @vaphor, revealed that she and her pals had visited a barbershop in the Lekki neighbourhood.

@vaphor claims that the barber told them that the ₦100k haircut fee was on the lesser end of the scale, while he charges ₦500k for haircuts for celebrities.

The barber revealed in the social media-trending post that he makes between ₦8 and 12 million per week.

‎Barbers now charge this much?. Me and my guys went out the other day, and some of the boys decided to stop at a barbing salon first around the Lekki area. We followed them there, and we met this barber who’s charging over ₦100k for a single haircut. 

‎He even told us that ₦100k was actually on the low side that he charges celebrities more than ₦500k per head, and that he pulls in ₦8–12 million weekly from the business. Is that kind of money even realistic for a barber in Nigeria right now (2026), especially in Lekki?.
