“No stranger entered our compound…” – Mirabel’s neighbour speaks out on viral assault claim

A man posing as Mirabel’s neighbour has spoken out amid the current social media frenzy around her claimed assault in her Lagos flat.

The neighbour claims that on Sunday, the day Mirabel said the incident took place, he and her were both at home.

He questioned the veracity of her story by insisting that no stranger could have entered the premises undetected.

He also brought up an earlier instance where Mirabel allegedly asked for money, saying her mother had just died.

According to the neighbour, he later learned via her social media that her mother had passed away in July, some months earlier.

Users of TikTok have also joined the conversation, pointing out possible contradictions in the narrative.

In a video shared by an X user, @Teeniiola, read what the neighbour said below:

“The gr@pe did not happen. I did not hear any shouting when the alleged incident occurred. On that day, I was at home, and another neighbour was washing clothes. We have a big dog and a big gate in the house, so it would have been impossible for a stranger to enter unnoticed. What pains me is that she said her mum passed away a few days ago, and the whole compound contributed money for her. I later checked her page and saw that she had posted about her mum’s passing last December. Mirabel has only been in this house for three months, and we used to hear her and some guys talking in her room. I’ve also seen her with a man before; he comes around often, and they take some things. I don’t believe her story.”

Authorities are still looking into Mirabel’s initial claim, including the Lagos State Police Command and the Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA).

In such delicate cases, the public is advised to refrain from jumping to conclusions and to give due process time to complete its work.
