A Nigerian woman living in has voiced concern over the treatment of Nigerians in the country, urging the to step in.
In a video shared on , she alleged that Nigerians are experiencing ongoing har@ssment and att@cks, with little visible support from officials. She also criticised the Nigerian consulate, claiming it has remained silent despite the situation.
According to her, the issue goes beyond immigration or documentation concerns, with some Nigerians allegedly being told to leave the country altogether.
She cited personal experiences, saying her children—who were born in South Africa—have faced bullying and have been told to “go back to their country.”
While acknowledging that some Nigerians might consider returning home, she questioned how feasible that would be, pointing to challenges such as economic hardship, unreliable electricity, and general living conditions in Nigeria.
She called on the Nigerian government to engage with South African authorities, stressing that if citizens are to return, it should be done under safe and dignified conditions rather than through fear or hostility.
