“Waiting on the Lord is the hardest thing ever” — Lady opens up on regret and hardship

After candidly expressing her anger with life decisions, patience, and the challenges she now encounters as a struggling single mother, a lady has generated a lot of conversation on social media.

The woman discussed her decision to abstain from certain lifestyles while in school because she thought it was ethically wrong, only to later witness her colleagues achieve financial security and marriage in an emotive article that has struck a chord with many.

She claims that many of her former classmates participated in activities that she avoided in the hopes that persistence and faith would finally pay off.

Years later, she claims that the result has made her reevaluate her decisions as she struggles to make ends meet while raising a child.

Her message has drawn empathy, criticism, and introspection, particularly from young women dealing with same ethical and financial challenges.

Similar testimony from women expressing regrets and realities related to choices they made while in college became widespread online in September 2024.

“I refused to join them because I thought it wasn’t good”

Waiting on the Lord is the hardest thing ever. When I was in school, most of my friends were into runs, packages and olosho or whatever they call it, but I didn’t join them. I thought it wasn’t good, so I stayed on my own, believing things would work out differently,” she said.

Comparing results exacerbates emotional suffering.
The woman claimed that observing the advancement of her contemporaries had increased her concerns about the future.

Now most of them are married to rich guys, some are abroad, married with children and here I am struggling, with a child and no money. This is my biggest worry.”

Her admission has rekindled discussions about faith, postponing gratification, and the difficult financial circumstances that young Nigerians face.
