Victor Osimhen on Barcelona radar

Victor Osimhen, a forward for Galatasaray, is reportedly being considered by Barcelona in advance of the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old Nigerian international is one of several strikers the Blaugrana are keeping an eye on as a possible Robert Lewandowski replacement, according to Barca Universal.

Julian Alvarez, a forward for Atlético Madrid, is still the front-runner to replace Lewandowski, but there is uncertainty surrounding the Argentina international’s potential transfer, so Barcelona is looking into other options for the No. 9 spot.

Osimhen is one of the names on the table, though reports suggest he is not the leading choice. After two successful seasons at Galatasaray, he has scored 56 goals in 70 games, with a contract valid until 2029.

While Osimhen’s profile is highly valued, questions remain over his temperament, which contributed to his exit from Napoli in 2024.

Other forwards previously linked to Barcelona, such as Dusan Vlahovic and Benjamin Sesko, are no longer being considered. Vlahovic, despite being available on a free transfer, is not seen as a fit to spearhead the attack. Sesko moved from RB Leipzig to Manchester United for €76.5 million but has yet to live up to expectations.
