Eedris Abdulkareem, a veteran Nigerian rapper, has aroused public debate after making a controversial comment regarding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during a live concert in Edo State.
In a viral video that circulated on social media, the outspoken musician lambasted the current administration and responded to the President’s recent visit to victims of the assaults in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North, Plateau State.
“Tinubu is the worst president. Anyone supporting APC, may Nigeria happen to you. He went to Jos to console victims but didn’t visit the affected community. Seyi said he’s doing well; if true, we’ll confirm it,” he said.
His words come as many Nigerians express differing views on the government’s response to recent happenings in the country.
Last year, the superstar recorded a protest song to address government incompetence, which was eventually prohibited by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).
Despite the broadcast ban, the song ‘Tell Your Papa’ received a lot of attention and streams.
Eedris Abdulkareem, known for his outspokenness, has previously utilised his platform to address a variety of political and social issues in the country.
