TikToker Tea Tyme arrested for allegedly k!lling pedestrian during livestream

Almost two months after allegedly hitting and perishing a pedestrian while livestreaming while driving, Tea Tyme, a TikTok content creator, was arrested on Christmas Eve.

Police in Zion say the influencer, whose real name is Tynesha McCarty-Wroten, was taken into custody on Tuesday. She was charged with two felonies: aggravated use of communications resulting in death and reckless homicide.

The charges, according to the authorities, are related to an incident that happened on November 3 in a suburb north of Chicago, USA. According to police, McCarty-Wroten hit 59-year-old Darren Lucas as he was crossing an intersection while she was livestreaming.

The moment of impact was purportedly captured in video from the livestream that subsequently went viral online. The video shows McCarty-Wroten saying, “F***, f***, f***, I just hit somebody,” after a loud thud. A child’s voice can also be heard inquiring about what transpired just before the stream suddenly stopped.

According to the police, McCarty-Wroten stayed at the scene to assist the responding officers and called 911 right away after the incident. After being taken to a hospital, Lucas was later declared deceased.

The Zion Police Department made the arrest, but they haven’t disclosed any more information about the investigation.
