A fresh video has surfaced showing the abducted principal, Mrs Alamu, who was seized during a school raid in the Orrire town of Oyo State, pleading for immediate assistance.
In the now-viral video circulating on social media, she explained that she and other victims had spent around 13 days in the jungle since being taken from Owo, pleading with authorities to help.
“About 13 days ago, we were picked from Owo, and till now, we are still in the bush. We are begging President Tinubu, Governor Seyi Makinde, and every other well-meaning Nigerian to please help us,” she said.
She urged Nigerian youths, the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), and other stakeholders to intercede and facilitate discussions for their release, emphasising that they are suffering under severe conditions.
The principal also begged with security services to avoid using force and instead focus on conversation and diplomacy to ensure their safe release.
“We are in the cold, we are under the sun, we are under the rain — both the children and the adults. Please, we are begging you in the name of God. This does not call for force at all, just negotiate and dialogue with them,” she added.
The video has caused further outrage online, with many Nigerians urging for immediate government intervention and enhanced security to save the victims.
The Oyo school kidnapping continues to cause national alarm as families await word on the safe return of the abducted pupils and personnel.
