Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has praised Nigerian singer Burna Boy for promoting the country’s image internationally, revealing that the artiste’s billboard was the first he noticed during a visit to Grenada.
Dangote made the remarks during a media briefing, where he highlighted the growing international recognition of Nigerian entertainers and their contributions to projecting the country’s image beyond its borders.
According to the billionaire businessman, encountering Burna Boy’s billboard on the Caribbean island demonstrated the extent to which Nigerian music stars have gained visibility on the global stage.
Why Dangote Praised Burna Boy
Speaking about the importance of recognising Nigerians who positively represent the country abroad, Dangote described entertainers as important ambassadors whose achievements deserve greater attention.
Recalling his experience in Grenada, he said, “The first time I went to Grenada, the first billboard that I saw was Burna Boy.”
The industrialist stressed that Nigerians should pay more attention to individuals whose accomplishments contribute to improving the country’s international reputation.
“These are our ambassadors, and this is what we need to be talking about,” he added.
Nigerian Artistes Gaining Global Recognition
Dangote’s comments highlight the growing international visibility of Nigerian musicians, whose music, performances and brand partnerships have helped introduce Nigerian culture to audiences around the world.
Artistes such as Burna Boy have contributed to the global popularity of Afrobeats, attracting international audiences and expanding the reach of Nigerian music.
