Nigerian social media commentator Solomon Buchi has condemned Prophet Israel after footage surfaced of the cleric’s second wife being presented to his church members.
In the viral video, the prophet’s first wife informed the congregation that they were in a polygynous marriage, before presenting his second wife, Minister Shekayla, whom she referred to as her “sister in marriage.”
Speaking to the congregation, Shekayla said their marital arrangement was God’s will and insisted she had not been treated unfairly.
“It is amazing to know that this is the will of God and to live it,” she said.
In response, Solomon Buchi firmly rejected that claim, arguing that such an arrangement goes against biblical teachings on marriage.
“That is not the will of God! You satanic ministers should be chased out of God’s house,” he said.
Buchi also faulted the congregation for applauding the announcement, stressing that Christian leaders must not elevate personal revelations above scripture.
He pointed to New Testament teachings on marriage and the biblical standard that church elders must be husbands of one wife.
“You guys are beginning to use the pulpit to live out your fantasies,” he stated.
Buchi further accused some religious leaders of hiding behind claims of divine revelation to justify their personal decisions, insisting that such practices should be questioned rather than accepted without scrutiny.
