Orji Uzor Kalu, a former Abia State governor and Senator from Abia North, has reacted to an alleged political clash involving Abia State Governor Alex Otti.
Kalu made a public statement in which he said that despite remaining silent and avoiding conflict, he was unfairly persecuted.
According to the senator, the situation escalated after Governor Otti allegedly directed his press secretary to confront him.
“I was in my room, maintaining friendship. Otti asked his press secretary to go and fight me. Otti said he will retire us from politics. I am the lion on the streets. Thank God Tinubu is a democrat,” Kalu said.
The outspoken politician described the comments and actions as an attempt to scare him. He argued that he remains a powerful figure in Nigerian politics.
Kalu also mentioned President Bola Tinubu, whom he classified as a Democrat.
The comment appeared to demonstrate his belief in Nigeria’s democratic system and freedom of expression.
Orji Kalu recently questioned Governor Otti’s projects. He claimed that the majority of the roads in the state were built during his reign. According to him, the new administration has just repainted them.
As political alignments move in Abia State, conversations about political rivalry, power struggles, and democracy have intensified.
