The has confirmed the d3ath of a young man identified as Christopher, who was shot by suspected k!dnappers in Auchi, Edo State.

The att@ck reportedly occurred on Monday, April 20, 2026, in the Igbira Camp area near a fertilizer depot and close to a military checkpoint. According to eyewitness accounts, Christopher was riding home on a motorcycle with a female companion when armed men intercepted them.

The a$sailants, believed to be k?dnappers, allegedly opened fire when Christopher attempted to resist and protect the woman. He was sh0t during the struggle and later d!ed from his injuries.

The att@ckers reportedly escaped with the female companion, whose identity had not been confirmed at the time of reporting.

Police spokesperson Eno Ikoedem confirmed the incident and noted that witnesses described the suspects as wearing military uniforms. The case is now under investigation as authorities work to track down the perpetrators and rescue the abducted woman.

“I am not saying they are soldiers but they said the people wore army camouflage. The young man was shot, and he was later rushed to a health facility but later confirmed d3ad,” she said.

“Efforts are in top gear to apprehend them and rescue the lady.”
