Ghetts, a British rapper and actor, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for a fatal hit-and-run accident that killed a 20-year-old student in England.

The rapper, whose true name is Justin Clarke-Samuel, previously pleaded guilty to causing the death of Yabin Tamang by unsafe driving.

He also admitted to another count of hazardous driving. The fatal occurrence took place on October 18, last year, in Ilford, East London.

According to reports, he had consumed alcohol before getting behind the wheel and was allegedly travelling at around 60 mph on a residential lane when he hit the victim.

Instead of remaining at the scene, he reportedly went home and was arrested the next day.

Tamang died two days later in hospital from his injuries.

It should be noted that Gistreel previously reported when Ghetts was initially charged in connection with the deadly crash last year.

The case drew extensive attention at the time due to his celebrity position and role in the Netflix series Supacell.

The current sentencing has brought the case to a formal end.

In addition to the 12-year prison sentence, the court determined that Ghetts will be barred from driving for 17 years following his release.
