Paraguayan senator Celeste Amarilla has intensified her public feud with Kylian Mbappé, launching fresh in$ults just days after her earlier remarks sparked international condemnation and a cr!minal investigation in France.

The latest comments follow France’s 1–0 victory over Paraguay in the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Mbappé scoring the winning goal from the penalty spot. After the match, Paraguay goalkeeper Orlando Gill alleged that Mbappé refused to shake his hand, a claim that fueled Amarilla’s criticism.

Speaking in Paraguay’s Senate, Amarilla reportedly said:

> “When Orlando Gill… extended his hand with all the humility of a Paraguayan, this son of a bitch refused to shake his hand and shouted in his face.”

Her latest remarks come after Mbappé publicly condemned her previous comments, accusing her of “brazen racism” and saying she had overshadowed Paraguay’s impressive World Cup campaign.

French authorities have since opened an investigation into Amarilla over alleged aggravated public in$ults and incitement to h@tred following a complaint filed by the French Football Federation. The Paraguayan government has also distanced itself from the senator’s comments, stating that they do not represent the country’s official position.
