Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire broke down in tears during a birthday surprise planned for her.

The actress had earlier celebrated her new age with a stunning photo, describing it as a fresh start and an opportunity to embrace grace, joy and faith in God for the journey ahead.

To make the day memorable, a close friend organized a live band performance in her honour.

In a viral clip from the celebration, Peggy became emotional as the lead singer recounted the tough times she has endured in her marriage and personal life.

According to the singer, Peggy has had to navigate life on her own from a young age, working hard while facing betrayal, public humiliation and heartbreak.

The singer disclosed that Peggy would often call her late at night, weeping over her struggles, and all she could do then was encourage her.

“She has walked this path alone. What kind of betrayal has she not seen? She has been hustling from a young age. She has been through so much – betrayal, heartbreak, public humiliation. Sometimes she would call me by 2 a.m., 3 a.m., crying. I didn’t have much to offer, just encouragement,” the singer said.

This comes months after Peggy officially finalised her divorce.
