A Nigerian man has sparked reactions online after alleging that a woman he met on Facebook disappeared after he sent her money to visit and cook for him.

Identified as Chukwudi Sunday Ajuro, the man said he initially believed the woman was “wife material” when they connected on the social media platform.

According to him, the woman first told him she was hungry and needed ₦2,000 to buy food, which he sent. She later allegedly requested another ₦3,000 to purchase medication for an ulcer, and he sent that as well.

The woman reportedly later offered to visit him and prepare a meal as a gesture of appreciation for his kindness.

Ajuro said he subsequently sent her ₦12,000 to cover the cost of cooking and transportation.

However, he claimed that after receiving the money, the woman stopped responding to his messages.

He shared screenshots of their alleged conversations and a transaction receipt while calling her out online.

Interestingly, the transaction receipt reportedly bears the name Ugochukwu Okafor as the recipient.

It remains unclear whether the woman provided an account belonging to another person or whether the Facebook profile was allegedly being operated by a man posing as a woman to defraud unsuspecting individuals.

The incident has since generated reactions online, with many social media users warning others to exercise caution when sending money to people they meet online, particularly before establishing their identity.
