The Rivers Assembly suspends Fubara’s impeachment procedures.
The impeachment process against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu has been suspended by the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Today, February 19, at its resumed session in the state capital of Port Harcourt, the House made a motion to halt the impeachment proceedings.
Just one week has passed since President Tinubu intervened in the fresh political standoff between Governor Sim Fubara and Nyesom Wike, his predecessor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
In January, Gov. Fubara and his deputy received a notice of impeachment due to egregious misbehaviour from members of the House of Assembly who support the FCT Minister.
