A young Nigerian man has appealed to social media for assistance after inadvertently acquiring mobile data for N90,000.

The young man said that he planned to purchase data for N9,000 but accidentally entered N90,000, resulting in a big loss.

The event took place when the individual, known by his X app handle @sadeeq_malo, attempted to top up his MTN line with data. Instead of the targeted N9,000, he accidentally entered N90,000.

This miscalculation resulted in an overwhelming 480 GB of mobile data, far more than he required. Sharing his problem online, the man sought advice on how to convert leftover data into airtime or cash.

He also urged MTN Nigeria to intervene and help settle the matter.

“I mistakenly bought 90k Data on My MTN Sim instead of 9k. Please, can someone help me how to convert this Data to Airtime or Money. Dear MTNNG, please do something. Please help me retweet this; your single retweet might help me, thank you.”

The message soon gained traction among Nigerians online, with many suggesting recommendations on how to convert or share the additional data.

Users also encouraged others to retweet his message, thinking it would reach a bigger audience and draw the attention of MTN executives.
