Speaking about her personal choices, she said she would rather focus on raising pets, explaining that her views are shaped by her life experiences and outlook on relationships.

Phyna added that as some women grow older—especially after going through difficult relationships—they may develop stronger emotional connections with pets, finding comfort and companionship in them.

“I think the love for animals in women kicks in when we’re approaching our 30s, some of them in their mid-30s, late 30s, especially when you don’t see yourself settling down. Maybe you’ve been in too many broken relationships, you’ve gone through too many heartbreaks, I don’t know.

So women tend to start developing a likeness for pets like that, and I think I’m in that stage. I think I’m in that stage right now,” she added.

Her statement has sparked mixed reactions online, with many sharing different opinions about her generalisation and personal choice.

One user commented, “Not every woman wants kids, and that’s okay.” Another added, “She’s generalising too much. Madam, abeg rest.”
