Pamilerin Adegoke, a Nigerian influencer, started an online discourse after giving his ideas on administration and public perception in the South-East.
In a tweet that immediately went viral on X (previously Twitter), he compared the performances of Enugu state governor Peter Mbah with Abia state governor Alex Otti, asking why one appeared to garner more public appreciation than the other.
“Peter Mbah is clearly delivering results in Enugu, arguably the most effective governor in the East right now, yet the same energy goes into hyping Alex Otti simply because of party affiliation. We see the bias, and it’s not hard to read between the lines,” he wrote.
This remark comes despite the constant praise Alex Otti has received from Nigerians, with many calling him as the best governor so far because of the numerous projects he has executed to make life easier for Abia residents.
Pamilerin believes that Peter Mbah deserves the same credit as Alex Otti since he produces outcomes, but people choose to be biased.
His statement, however, sparked debate on social media, with many Nigerians commenting on the significance of political affiliation in determining public opinion.
While some supported his position, others defended both governors, claiming that each leader’s performance should be evaluated based on observable impact and individual expectations.

One user commented, “Alex Otti is actually trying, you can’t deny his impact in Abia.👏” Another added, “True, performance should matter more than party.”
