Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is reportedly set to leave AS Monaco as the French club holds talks over terminating his contract following another injury setback.

The former World Cup winner joined the Ligue 1 side last summer after becoming eligible to return to professional football following the reduction of his doping suspension.

Pogba signed a two-year contract that was due to run until the end of next season, but his comeback has been disrupted by another injury.

According to reports from L’Equipe and Nicematin, the French midfielder collapsed in severe pain during a training session after suffering a thigh injury while taking part in a small-sided game.

The 32-year-old had only returned to training last week and was scheduled to undergo an MRI scan to determine the extent of the injury.

The latest setback has reportedly prompted Monaco to begin discussions with Pogba and his representatives over the termination of his contract, which expires next summer.

Pogba was cleared to resume professional football in March 2025 after his doping ban was reduced on appeal.

Before joining Monaco, he mutually agreed to terminate his contract with Juventus in December 2024.

His move to Monaco was expected to mark a fresh start, but persistent fitness problems limited him to just six appearances during the previous season.

The club is now expected to negotiate a financial settlement with Pogba as both parties work towards ending his stay in the Principality.
