Pastor Ebuka Obi, a popular Nigerian pastor, has ignited new conversations online after giving blunt romance advise to single women during a sermon.
In a viral video posted on X (previously Twitter) by @honest30bgfan, the preacher advised ladies not to confine themselves to one man who has not demonstrated a clear wish to marry.
Instead, he advised them to prayfully engage and observe numerous suitors without intimacy until God revealed the appropriate one.
“Date four, five, six guys. Just make sure you don’t sleep with any of them. You can be studying three at a time to know the one God will choose,” he said.
He believes that talking to more than one man is OK when neither has publicly proclaimed marital aspirations.
He emphasised that exclusivity should begin only after engagement, not throughout the uncertain talking stages.
He questioned why so many women remain committed to men who have never discussed marriage, met their families, or made specific arrangements for the future.
“When God has selected the right one, that person will engage you,” he added.
The message has sparked mixed reactions online. A commentator wrote, “This doesn’t make any sense.” Another said, “Pastor said the absolute truth.”
The sermon has subsequently sparked discussions on dating and commitment in modern partnerships.
