Former Super Eagles striker Osaze Odemwingie has urged Victor Osimhen to rein in his actions after the Nigerian striker got involved in yet another row during Galatasasay’s pre season friendly match against Villarreal.
According to reports by owngoalnigeria on tuesday August 11, 2026, the row broke out in the 37′ when Villarreal defender Santiago Mourino brought down Osimhen with his body to prevent him from receiving a cross and cutting into the penalty area.
Feeling hard done by and thinking he has been unfairly held up by the defender, Osimhen took off his face mask and confronted Mourino before knocking him down.
The players from both teams had to step in and stop the two from coming to blows.
The referee Kadir Saglam then booked both Osimhen and Mourino for their roles in the ugly incident.
Odemwingie was not happy with what happened and felt that Osimhen is being very reckless with his actions.
“I’m not having this, my first thought was not again, this is happening too much,” Odemwingie said.
