A Nigerian man bemoaned the financial strains that young Nigerians face, claiming that the nation’s current circumstances had made marriage more challenging for many guys.
He claimed in a video that many Nigerians had become accustomed to the nation’s problems and occasionally dismissed severe economic hardships as absurd.
“Una no know how this country don take spoil una lives. Una think say na cruise. Una no know how Nigeria as a country don spoil una life.”
He notably brought up the expense of marriage and domestic duties, stating that some men are hesitant to get married since they already find it difficult to cover their own bills.
“Make 31-year-old man dey fear to marry because of expenses. Your mates for other countries don marry born finish.”
The speaker likened the circumstances to what he called young adults’ experiences in nations where employment possibilities and policies facilitate early self-establishment.
“At 22, 23 your life don dey you don get work, you don get finish school. Your life is just balanced because the system works.”
He claims that even when a Nigerian man in his early 30s works and makes money, he could still be viewed as a “play boy” when, in truth, he is purposefully delaying marriage due to financial obligations.
“31 years old man for Nigeria na still play boy. No be say e no wan marry. Him don calculate am. Only me dey. See wetin I dey spend. See wetin I dey chop. Add two people mouth for me I go d!e.”
Additionally, he contended that many men who seem to be financially secure frequently work several jobs to cover their expenses.
“No be say he lazy. No be say he no dey work. E dey work round the clock. E no get any man wey dey work one work for Nigeria. Any man wey you see say e dey solve and pay him bills, him dey work more than one work.
