A political claim making the rounds on social media has triggered fresh debate after a man alleged that Bola Tinubu cancelled a planned foreign trip due to recent political developments involving opposition figures.

In the viral post, the man linked the alleged decision to reports claiming that Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso had defected to a new political platform identified as the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to him, the emergence of the NDC was not a spontaneous development but part of a long-term political strategy. He also referenced former Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson, arguing that such a politician would not make rash political moves.

The man further claimed that political tensions increased after it allegedly became clear that African Democratic Congress (ADC) would not become the main coalition platform for opposition figures.

However, the claims remain unverified, and no official statement has been released confirming either the alleged trip cancellation or the reported defections.

He claimed this prompted urgent legislative actions aimed at restricting last-minute political alignments.

“The NDC movement wasn’t an impromptu movement,” he wrote. “What quickened it was that when Tinubu found out ADC wasn’t the mainstream coalition party, he quickly sent his boys to the NASS to pass a bill which will prevent any last minute movement.”

Allegations Around Cancelled Trip

The man further suggested that the alleged defection of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso forced a rapid response within the ruling camp.

He claimed this development influenced the President’s decision to cancel a reported health-related trip abroad.

“You think Tinubu cancelled his health trip for fun? It’s bigger than what many think,” he added.
