“I pay for Band A and get zero electricity” – Spyro vents frustration, shares EKEDC worker’s unexpected complaint

Nigerian singer Spyro has vented his frustration over the country’s power situation after visiting an Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) office to complain about poor electricity supply despite paying Band A tariffs.

In a post shared on his Instagram story, the singer said he went to the office out of frustration to find out why he kept paying for Band A electricity without getting power.

He, however, said he was touched by what he saw, revealing that the workers at the office were also without electricity and had resorted to fanning themselves.

Spyro also recounted his conversation with a female staff member who attended to him, saying she lamented being mocked by her neighbours for working at the electricity distribution company yet having no power at home.

Reacting to the experience, Spyro criticised Nigerians who believe everything is working well in the country, describing their stance as frustrating.

“I went to EKDC office out of frustration to find out why I pay for Band A and yet zero electricity, and on getting there, I got moved by compassion as the workers were literally fanning themselves, no electricity.

The lady that attended to me said, ‘My neighbours shame me for working here, yet I have no light.’” And yet some FOOLS still seem to think everything is okay in this country,” he wrote.

His experience has spotlighted growing complaints about electricity supply, particularly from consumers paying higher tariffs under the Band A classification.
