The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that employers who fail to provide accommodation and transportation for corps members posted to their organisations will be blacklisted from participating in the scheme.
The Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, made the announcement during an interactive session with corps members while on a working visit to Kogi State.
According to him, organisations that fail to meet the welfare requirements expected of them will no longer be allowed to receive corps members under the scheme.
“Any employer that fails to provide accommodation and transportation for corps members posted to them will be blacklisted from enjoying the services of the scheme.”
Nafiu also urged employers to prioritise the welfare of corps members, stressing that providing adequate support and a conducive environment would improve their productivity and overall well-being throughout their service year.
