Nanyah’s Demise: “It was connected to Abuja’s central sewage system” – Man shares personal experience, warns Nigerians

Following the unfortunate murder of fast-rising Nigerian musician Ifunanya Nwangene, also known as Nanyah, a Nigerian man, Uche Nworah, Ph.D., has recounted a firsthand experience in which snakes get entrance to residential homes, particularly in urban regions.

In a thorough narrative posted online, Nworah reflected on Nanyah’s alleged death from snake bites, characterising it as a heartbreaking reminder of the risks that reptiles may offer to humans.

He stated that, based on viral footage circulating online, the late musician looked to have lived on the bottom floor, which he believes enhanced the likelihood of snake infiltration.

Nworah shared his own experience in 2024, when a buddy discovered a snake in the guest room of his flat, causing immediate anxiety.

While security personnel killed the snake, the incident prompted him to hire professionals to fumigate the home.

During the fumigation procedure, he claimed that an even larger snake, a cobra, came from one of the bathrooms, scaring everyone there. According to him, further enquiry revealed that the apartment was connected to Abuja’s central sewage system, allowing reptiles to enter via drainage pipes.

To avoid a recurrence, Nworah said he hired a plumber to install non-return valve devices on all toilets.

These systems, he explained, allow trash to flow out while automatically preventing anything from entering the flat via the pipes.

He described the occurrence as a stark message to citizens, particularly those living on the ground level in cities like Abuja, where central sewage systems are ubiquitous.
