“Most of them failed in life” – Sowore blasts pastors, says churches are ‘collection points’

Omoyele Sowore, a controversial activist and former presidential candidate, has sparked online debate after making shocking claims about pastors and churches in Nigeria.

In a viral video circulating on social media, Sowore claimed that many people who become pastors do so because they are unable to succeed in other areas of life.

According to him, some church leaders “failed in school” or avoided what he described as serious work, preferring to start churches.

He confronted a pastor and advised him to convert his church building into a hospital for one year.

“I told him, if you turn this church into a hospital for one year, you will see how many lives you will save,” Sowore said.

However, he claimed the suggestion angered the cleric, who has since refused to associate with him.

Sowore further accused some churches of operating as “collection points” for vulnerable people, alleging that certain pastors exploit followers through what he described as false doctrines.

Despite the backlash his comments may attract, the activist stood firm.

“Pastors don’t like me, but I know God loves me,” he declared.

His remarks have since triggered heated reactions across social media, with supporters praising his boldness while critics slammed him for attacking religious leaders.
