A 23-year-old man named Abidemi Emmanuel has been placed under remand in a correctional facility after it was alleged that he lured a model named Fems Thrift and her friend in with a phoney modelling job and then r@ped them.
A Lagos State magistrate’s court arraigned Emmanuel on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. The case has been postponed to March 19 for additional hearing. Abimbola Adebisi, the public relations officer for the Lagos State Police Command, stated that investigations were still underway and that the suspect was placed under remand following his arraignment.
The suspect has been placed under remand in a penitentiary facility after being arraigned. A postponement of the lawsuit has been made until March 19, 2026. On Thursday, February 19, she told Punch that the investigation was still ongoing.
Remember when Fems complained on February 11 that a man had messaged her on Instagram, saying he had moved from the UK to Nigeria to start a global fashion brand?
She claimed that he requested her to use her social media power to promote the brand in exchange for N140,000 for the modelling job.
She claimed that, just for safety, she and a companion visited the address in Ajao Estate and were shocked to discover that it was an empty domestic flat.
She said that when she questioned Emmanuel, he informed her that he had hired the space for the photo session and that the makeup artist had left for a short while.
But as she prepared for the photo session, she claimed that Emmanuel threatened them with a knife, tied them up with socks, and then pierced them.
In addition, she said he confiscated their phones, sent private images and videos to himself, and threatened to post the content online if they didn’t speak.
After public protest, Emmanuel was taken into custody by the police on February 14, 2026.
The Gender Unit of the Command is handling the case.
