Social media users were amused by a man’s account of how a straightforward explanation regarding a small car accident resulted in a family-wide miscommunication involving soldiers and a purported trip to a military camp.
The man described how the car was involved in an accident while he was teaching a friend how to drive.
He claims that soldiers who happened to be walking by stopped to help and assisted in towing the damaged car to a mechanic’s workshop.
He left his phone to take a bath after telling his mother about the accident and reassuring her that he was unharmed. But when he got back, he found several missed calls from anxious family members.
Sharing the experience, read what the man said below
“Was involved in an accident with my car while teaching my friend how to drive. After the incident, I called my mom and told her I was involved in an accident, and that some soldiers who were passing by helped me out. They even towed my car to the mechanic’s workshop. I clearly told her I’m fine o. Then I dropped my phone and went to take my bath. I came back to meet 18 missed calls. I was surprised. “What’s going on here?” I asked. Guess what? The calls were from my Dad, my siblings, and other family members.”
Many people on the internet soon found resonance with the amusing narrative, making jokes about how messages frequently become magnified when they are transmitted from one person to another.
Many Nigerians have expressed that they could identify with parents inadvertently miscommunicating facts during times of stress, and the topic has continued to make people giggle on social media.
