A guest house manager in Makurdi, Michael Aaron, has reportedly rescued an underage girl who was allegedly lured to the facility by a man under the guise of providing her with food items.

Aaron disclosed the incident in a Facebook post on Monday, June 8, 2026, stating that preliminary findings revealed the girl is an internally displaced person (IDP) from the Daudu IDP Camp in Benue State.

According to him, the minor and her family were displaced after their community was att@cked by herders.

Aaron further alleged that the man fled the scene when he attempted to contact authorities for his arrest.

The incident has drawn attention online, with many commending the intervention and calling for greater protection of vulnerable children, particularly those living in displacement camps.
