Lady recounts bus encounter after elderly passenger’s remark changes her mind about giving away ₦200

A Nigerian lady has shared an emotional experience during a commercial bus ride, revealing how a stranger’s unexpected comment changed her decision about giving up her ₦200 change.

According to her, the bus driver owed five passengers, including an elderly man, ₦200 each in change. When they arrived at their destination, all five passengers got down to collect the outstanding balance.

She explained that she was already running late and had planned to let the driver give her own ₦200 to the elderly man so he would receive ₦400 instead.

However, just as she was about to make the request, the elderly man spoke up, saying:

“So all of una no fit leave this money for me?”

His remark made her reconsider her decision, as she felt it no longer came across as a voluntary act of kindness.

The story has since sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many saying it reflects the financial challenges many people face and the difficult realities of daily life in Nigeria.
