A Nigerian lady has accused police officers of allegedly intimidating and handcuffing her and extorting over ₦300,000 from her during an encounter in Victoria Island, Lagos.
In a video circulating online, the visibly distressed lady was seen crying by the roadside at night as she narrated her experience.
According to her, the officers stopped and detained her while she was returning from the beach. She claimed they handcuffed her and later dropped her off in Victoria Island.
She also alleged that she tried to record the encounter, but the video was not saved.
The lady said she was forced to borrow money and reached out to several friends, asking them to send ₦20,000 each, but none came through for her.
She added that her mother, with whom she had been having disagreements, was the only person who eventually sent her money.
