K!dnappers demand N100m ransom for abd¥cted Ondo businesswoman

Suspected k!dnappers who abd¥cted Mrs. Morenike Falona, the wife of an Irele-based motorcycle dealer, have reportedly contacted her family and demanded a ransom of ₦100 million for her release.

The 35-year-old woman was abd¥cted from her residence on Wednesday night, June 17, 2026, in Ode-Irele, the headquarters of Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State, in the presence of her family members.

A source close to the family disclosed that the abd¥ctors reached out and demanded the sum of ₦100 million.

According to the source, the k!dnappers did not establish contact until about 48 hours after the incident. They reportedly called one of the family members at about 5:30 p.m. on Thursday to make their demand.

The spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Mr. Abayomi Jimoh, who confirmed the abd¥ction, said the command was not aware of any negotiations between the suspected k!dnappers and the victim’s family.

He, however, stated that intelligence-driven efforts were ongoing in collaboration with other security agencies and non-conventional security outfits to ensure that the victim is rescued safely and unharmed.

Jimoh also said he had no knowledge of any contact between the suspected abd¥ctors and the family of the Irele-based businesswoman, assuring that she would be rescued without the payment of ransom.
