“It’s really scary…” — Man lists expectations upon reaching ages 30 and 40

Following a viral video in which he voiced concerns about the demands and expectations of life at thirty, a guy has generated a lot of discussion on the internet.

In the video, he discussed how turning 30 frequently feels like a significant turning point that prompts contemplation about age 40 and beyond.

He also emphasised the emotional stress that many people experience in their early thirties as they attempt to live up to social standards.

He clarified that as societal expectations rise dramatically after the age of thirty, many people start to experience anxiety.

He noted: “Once you are 30, you are closer to 40 years… 40 is not far, I will not lie to you.”

He continued by saying that by that age, people are frequently expected to have attained financial security, owned property, driven cars, and operated profitable enterprises.

According to him: “People expect you to have a house, to have cars… to have business of your own.”

He pointed out that this pressure can be daunting, particularly for people who are still figuring out their business or professional route.

He added that life plans do not always work out, even when proper planning is in place: “You can plan and not have money to fund that planning.”

The speaker also discussed how people in their 30s are expected to get married and start families.

He questioned how people who are still striving for financial freedom could live up to such expectations.

He said: “At 30 years, you are still trying to figure out your life… How do you want to get married when you don’t have things going on for yourself?”

He continued by saying that women, in particular, are frequently under pressure to get married between the ages of 30 and 33, and that society occasionally harshly evaluates their relationship status.

He noted: “As a lady at 30, 31, 32, people want you to get married.”

He also voiced concern about the psychological effects of these demands, stating that many people suffer from depression but keep it to themselves.

According to him: “The depression that comes with age 30… is really scary.”

“A lot of people are in depression because of this age 30 that they cannot say,” he said in closing, acknowledging that he personally finds this era overwhelming because many people are still fighting to settle their life while under continual external pressure.
