Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has asserted that, aside from President Bola Tinubu, he is the most insulted politician in Nigeria.
He said this on Saturday during a gathering with representatives of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ochigba, Ahoada East Local Government Area, Rivers State.
In his hometown, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Chibudom Nwuche hosted an end-of-year Thanksgiving ceremony that included the event.
There were a number of party leaders and supporters present.
Wike clarified that he is criticised for insisting on upholding agreements that safeguard his supporters’ interests.
“After Tinubu, the next most abused politician today is me. Why are they abusing me? Because they know that agreement is agreement,” he said.
The FCT Minister emphasised how crucial it is to carry out agreements once they are established.
“When we have agreed on something, let’s implement it. If we can’t implement it, don’t even come for it,” he added.
Wike reassured his fans that he is still fully committed to supporting President Tinubu.
“For us, long before now, we have agreed that we must make sure that we will continue to support Tinubu. That is the position you took and that is the position we are going to still take,” he stated.
He continued by saying that making sure his supporters are not left behind and that their interests are taken into account in all agreements serves as the foundation for his political actions.
