“I’m overprotective of my daughter, Priscilla” — Iyabo Ojo explains why she never left her with a man

Iyabo Ojo, a Nollywood actress, has talked about how fiercely protective she is of her daughter Priscilla and how her experience as a rape survivor has shaped the way she keeps an eye on her.

The actress clarified that when Priscilla was accepted to a university, her overprotectiveness became more apparent. Iyabo claims that her daughter once asked if she trusted her.

Iyabo stated that she would demand that Priscilla get in touch with her prior to leaving the school and ensure that a staff member was with her.

Iyabo Ojo explained that her approach to her daughter’s safety was influenced by her personal experience.

The actress said, “I’m overprotective of my daughter, Priscilla. When she went to university, she asked, ‘Mum, don’t you trust me?’”

She further stated, “I make sure she calls me before leaving school and has a staff member with her.”

Iyabo added, “I never leave her with a man because I’m a rape survivor.”

Based on their own experiences, Iyabo Ojo’s revelation has brought attention to the challenging balance that some parents must strike between having faith in their kids and exercising caution.

Her remarks have also highlighted how traumatic events can affect parenting, especially when it comes to worries about a child’s safety.
