“I’m going nowhere” – Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo rejects asylum, vows to protect persecuted Christians

Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, a Plateau State priest, has stated that he rejected down offers of shelter from various international countries during the height of alleged Islamist extremist threats against his life.

The outspoken man of God, who is the Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, claims that countries such as Australia, Austria, and other European nations have given him sanctuary.

Dachomo chooses to remain in Nigeria and continue advocating for persecuted Christians in Plateau, and throughout the country in general.

He revealed the information during an interview on Wednesday, noting that the refuge offers came at a time when death threats were purportedly delivered on a regular basis, as well as veiled warnings from the president.

The cleric stated that he declined the offers because he is not a coward or someone who would desert his congregation for the safety of a foreign country.

“I can’t be afraid of them. They should be afraid of me. I’ve been offered asylum in Australia, Austria, and other countries, but I said no. I’m going nowhere. I stand with them,” he stated.

Dachomo noted that, while some friends, family members, and religious companions advised him to accept the asylum offers, he has never considered abandoning his people, who continue to be persecuted by terrorists and Fulani bandits.
