A Nigerian police officer and single mother of three has sparked outrage on social media after posting a personal story in which she claims to have been pregnant for four years.

In a famous TikTok video, she said that despite her position in law enforcement, she has had difficulties in obtaining justice, leaving her with no alternative but to go public about her condition.

“I am a police officer, a single mother of 3, and carrying a pregnancy for 4 years now. I have sought spiritual solutions to the pregnancy, and I was told it was the Alhaji who impregnated me, is the one responsible for my ordeal.”

She stated that an influential Alhaji had impregnated her and taken advantage of her.

The woman also stated that she addressed the individual she thinks is responsible, but police officers appeared to be sheltering him, leaving her disappointed and powerless.

“I have challenged him, but he asked me to call police and I have seen police officers acting cordial with him and also collecting money from him,” she added.

Feeling helpless, she turned to the public for assistance, begging Nigerians not to criticise her because of her position as a police officer.

The disclosure elicited mixed reactions online, with some expressing fury at the authorities’ suspected cooperation and others offering prayers and emotional support for her.
