“If You Stay in an Abu$ive Marriage, Forgive or Leave—Don’t Wait for Revenge” – Radio Doctor Advises Women

A radio doctor, Oby Olamma Nnadi, has advised women enduring abu$!ve marriages with plans to take revenge on their husbands in old age to reconsider their approach.

In a Facebook post, Nnadi argued that remaining in an abu$!ve relationship while hoping to retaliate years later is unhealthy and vindictive. She maintained that women in such situations should either leave the marriage or genuinely forgive their partners if they choose to stay.

She also questioned the assumption that those planning revenge would outlive their husbands, noting that life is unpredictable.

She wrote:

“Woman to woman, I say this again.

‘The minute you choose to remain in an unhappy, abusive marriage, it means you have decided to forgive your partner for whatever he has done to you in the past.

‘I will never encourage that victim m3ntality of “some men will suffer in old age because they were abusive husbands”.

‘Some women choose to stay because they live for the societal validation and grandstanding that comes with the married woman tag.

‘And I ask, why do you want to eat your cake and have it?

‘This is a marriage that has made you become a “shadow of yourself” supposedly…

‘There will never be a good enough reason to be so vindictive, that you start planning your “revenge” in old age. That’s expending too much energy on absolute rubbish!

‘It’s either you leave, or you stay and fulfill the vows you took.

‘We must begin to normalize this conversation.

‘Besides, between August-December, 2025, four married women personally known to me, and all under 40, di£d in their sleep, or from physical health problems. Their husbands who are all older than their wives are hale and hearty.

‘So what’s the guarantee that you will outlive that man you are planning to deal with in future???'”
