“I won’t be part of it” – Jigan Baba Oja disowns event to honour late Ogogo

Nollywood star Abimbola Kazeem, better known by his stage name Jigan Baba Oja, has distanced himself from a forthcoming TAMPAN Egba Zone event honouring the late veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, better known by his stage name Ogogo.

After seeing his name and photo on an event advertising flier, the actor expressed worry, claiming he was unaware of the program and had not granted permission to be connected with it.

As part of events honouring the life and legacy of the late Taiwo Hassan, TAMPAN Egba Zone Artistes Nite is set to take place on August 29, 2026.

The promotional materials included a number of celebrities, and the ticket costs were reportedly between ₦2,000 to ₦250,000.

Jigan, however, clarified on social media that he was unrelated to the initiative.

Read what he said below;

“I, Abimbola Kazeem, popularly known as JiganbabaOja, have no involvement in the matter currently trending. I do not support, nor will I ever be part of such actions for any reason.”

Jigan also stressed how crucial it is to safeguard the reputation he has developed over the years.

He insisted that he wouldn’t become involved in activities just because they were popular or might draw notice.

The actor asked his supporters, relatives, friends, and well-wishers to ignore any information implying that he is in favour of or intends to attend the event.

Despite his assertion that he was unaware of the scheme, his explanation has garnered attention on the internet, especially since his picture was prominently shown on the flier.

According to reports, the TAMPAN Egba Zone event is being planned to honour Taiwo Hassan, whose passing recently caused the Yoruba film industry to grieve.

After a fight with cancer, the late actor was laid to rest in Ilaro, Ogun State.
