“I was wrong” – MC Mbakara tenders apology to Jim Iyke over viral elevator video

In response to criticism over a widely shared lift encounter video, well-known content creator MC Mbakara formally apologised to Nollywood star Jim Iyke.

The video, which went viral on social media, saw Mbakara and his spouse meeting the seasoned actor in a lift.

Jim Iyke was seen on the video briefly shaking hands and saying hello before moving away, perhaps in a hurry.

Mbakara later voiced dissatisfaction with the interaction, stating that the actor didn’t seem nice.

“What will it take for him to smile? It’s annoying. Celebrities always feeling like they are God or something.”

In another post, he added:

“I Stumbled On Jim Iyke And This Happened. I Love Him Regardless.”

Online responses to the remarks were conflicting.

In response to the criticism, Mbakara retracted his statement and acknowledged his error on his official Facebook site.

He wrote:

“I never thought this will trend but I am dropping my sincere apologies to Uncle Jim Iyke and everyone about this issue. I was wrong.”
