A woman has recounted how a disagreement over a proposed ₦6 million increase in a wedding budget reportedly resulted in an engaged couple calling off their marriage plans.
According to the woman, the couple had initially agreed to spend ₦12 million on their wedding, with the groom expected to provide the larger share because he earns considerably more than his fiancée.
However, the bride-to-be reportedly wanted a more elaborate ceremony and asked her fiancé to increase the budget from ₦12 million to ₦18 million.

The woman said the man declined to increase the budget and told his fiancée, “If you want an ₦18m wedding, add the extra ₦6m.”
She reportedly became upset and made remarks that the man found troubling.
The disagreement reportedly intensified when the groom-to-be began questioning whether they were approaching marriage with compatible expectations.
He told her, “You want to start our marriage by asking me to spend money I told you I don’t have. I need to rethink this whole thing.”
Following the disagreement, the couple reportedly cancelled their wedding plans.
